Full Job Description
Fond du Lac Family Dentistry is growing, and we need your help! We are looking to add a hygienist to perform patient care and promote good oral health practices. Duties include new patient exams; regular 6 month recalls and periodontal therapy. Due to volume of periodontal care, preference will be given to those candidates with experience diagnosing and performing non-surgical periodontal therapy. We are seeking someone reliable and committed to promoting a caring and compassionate environment for both co-workers and patients alike.
Responsibilities
- Ensure patients feel as comfortable as possible at new patient visits
- Conduct initial oral screenings and verify medical and dental history
- Identify gingivitis, periodontal disease, and caries
- Educate patients of all ages on proper home
- Communicate post-operative instructions to patients after dental procedures
- Co-treatment plan with dentist
- Maintain proper documentation in the electronic patient chart
- Take X-rays and sterilize instruments
- Monitor and order supplies as necessary
Skills
- Proven experience as dental hygienist
- In-depth knowledge of health, safety and privacy practices (e.g. OSHA, HIPAA)
- Experience in proper use and maintenance of dental hygiene equipment
- Outstanding communication skills and ability to show empathy
- Attention to detail
- Physical and mental capabilities to meet the demands of dental hygiene
- Diploma and valid license to practice hygiene
